Homeowner maximizes benefit of Rolladen Rolling Shutters
Wendy Haynes is serious about the Rolladen Rolling Shutters she had installed on her home. So serious, in fact, that she also had the foam-filled aluminium slats installed on her pet bulldog's doggie door. Haynes's dog, Tank, weighs 65 pounds, and Haynes believed his door was large enough for a person to crawl through. Not anymore, thanks to the shutters, she said.
Haynes's two-story, 4,000-square-foot home has 23 windows equipped with the shutters, which are designed to increase security, reduce the sun's fading of furniture and carpet, and lower utility costs.
"When it's hot, I can raise the shutters and feel the heat coming in. If I didn't have the shutters, the (air conditioning) units would be running nonstop," said Haynes, who owns a flower shop. "Plus, I can now go out of town and I don't have to worry about anyone getting in. "I (also) like them because of the privacy. And I don't need a lot of window coverings or draperies."
Haynes also praised the company's customer service, saying the firm provided quick and courteous work.
"I'd definitely recommend them to others," she said. "They had mine done in only two days."
The slats are custom-made and available in several colors. They are also ideal for businesses, according to Fran Minnozzi, owner of Rolladen's Las Vegas franchise.
The shutters can be seen in the company's showroom, which is at 6168 W. Charleston Blvd., west of Jones Boulevard. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
