     n U.S. Home Corp. has appointed Mike DeSilva to the post of president of the company's Las Vegas division. DeSilva, who has been with the company for 17 years, is experienced in land and community development and planning, sales, and marketing. DeSilva replaces Steve Hackney, who has since joined Christopher Homes.
      n Steve Petruska, division president of Pulte Homes, presented an $11,342 check to Jack Dailey Elementary School. The funds were raised through the B.O.O.K.S. program, which assists high-need elementary schools through the Clark County School District Library Services Division.
      n M.J. Dean Construction has been awarded a $42 million contract to provide general contracting services for the Fairfield Las Vegas Grand Desert Resort, a time share project at 265 E. Harmon Ave. The 12-story structure will feature 273 units in 412,000 square feet.
      n Barry Sloss has joined Century 21 Consolidated as general manager. Sloss most recently was associated with Ruthe Realty. In his new post, Sloss will be responsible for the company's daily operations and training of new agents.
      n Century 21 Aadvantage Gold has become a member of the Century 21 Commercial Investment Network, which specializes in the acquisition, management and disposition of commercial investment properties. The new venture is headed locally by Jimmy Dague and Rose Marie S. Tornandizo.
      n HostKare, a developer and operator of independent living facilities for people age 55 and older, will open its first project this summer in Las Vegas. Bel Aire West, located at 8630 Nevso Drive, will feature 167 one- and two-bedroom units. HostKare was formed recently by Illinois-based Hostmark Hospitality Group, which operates 43 hotels and resorts worldwide.
      n Realty Executives of Nevada's Soozi Jones Walker represented Wailuku Investments in the five-year lease of 3,800 square feet at 6235 S. Pecos Road, Suites 104-105, to Funn Divers for $333,340.
      n Century 21 Aadvantage Gold's Rose Marie S. Tornandizo represented My Cities.Com Inc./Liahona Ventures in a three-year lease of 4,687 square feet at 1160 Town Center Drive from Allen Construction Services for $350,000. Tornandizo also represented Peter Harasty Photography in the three-year lease of 2,131 square feet at 5030 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite D, from Northwood Industries Inc. for $60,000.
      n Lee & Associates' Dave Knapper, Mike Hansell and Carla Kurtz represented Mikohn Gaming Inc. in the 10-year lease of 82,000 square feet at Hughes Airport Center on Pilot Road from Western Devcon Inc. for $8.9 million. Knapper also represented Viva Imports in the five-year lease of 9,550 square feet at 5480 S. Valley View Blvd. from South Tech for $365,000. In another transaction, Sjon Scarborough and JJ Landon represented Four Diamond Bakery in the five-year lease of 1,120 square feet at 2883 N. Green Valley Parkway from Pan Pacific Retail Properties for $117,600. Shawn Barashy and David Howes represented S&K Theatrical Draperies in the 36-month lease of 5,500 square feet at 3945 E. Patrick Lane from David B. Davis for $92,727. In another transaction, Mel Koich, Scott Owens and Kurtz represented both parties in the five-year lease of 2,553 square feet at 6965 Speedway Blvd. from Las Vegas Motor Speedway to Dave Spencer for $57,050. Koich, Owens and Kurtz also represented both parties in the five-year lease of 5,067 square feet at 6865 Speedway Blvd. from Las Vegas Motor Speedway to 1st Gear Transmission for $98,000. The trio also represented both sides in the five-year lease of 16,100 square feet at 6865 Speedway Blvd. from Las Vegas Motor Speedway to APC Holding Co. Inc. for $290,170.
      n NAI Americana Commercial's Chuck Haldeman represented EG&G Technical Services in the 18-month lease of 3,235 square feet at Sunset Ridge, 2920 N. Green Valley Parkway, from MacDonald Properties for $93,150. Kathy Campbell and Janet Goldstein represented J.C. Development in a 28-month lease for 2,500 square feet at 5597 W. Spring Mountain Road from Academy Collection for $77,000. Sally Rycroft and Jerry Shapiro represented InterCapital Development in the sale of a 3,003-square-foot building on .6 acre at the Galleria at Sunset mall to Michael and Francine Kohut for $1.1 million. Curtis Sanders represented Smoker's Paradise Inc. in a five-year lease of 1,997 square feet at 10616 S. Eastern Ave. from Horizon Properties for $211,799.
      n CB Richard Ellis' Randy Broadhead and Darren Lemmon represented IRP Legacy Convention Center Associates in the 10-year lease of 8,117 square feet at 101 Convention Center Drive, Suite 100, to the Public Utilities Commission for $1.8 million. In another transaction, Bill Dunbar and Diana Shanley represented Pacific West Development in its five-year lease of 4,782 square feet at Craig Road and U.S. Highway 95 to PT's Pub for $590,000. In another transaction, Brad Peterson and Lemmon represented Williams Court in the six-year lease of 3,486 square feet at 851 S. Rampart Blvd. to Players Club Partners for $470,000. In another transaction, Peterson and Lemmon represented Risk Services Inc. in the five-year lease of 5,128 square feet at 1210 S. Valley View Blvd., Suite 114, from the Mountain View/Valley View Professional Office Park. In another transaction, Peterson and Lemmon represented Ensign Federal Credit Union in the five-year lease of 2,371 square feet at 7312 W. Cheyenne Ave. from Klaholz Dunn & Schneehagen for $230,000.
      n Colliers International's Michael DeLew, Thomas van Betten and Spencer Pinter represented S.T.W.M.S. in its 36-month lease of 4,848 square feet at 7565 Commercial Way, Suite E, to American Eagle Wheel Corp. for $101,947. DeLew, van Betten and Pancirov also represented PFRS Patrick Center Corp. in its 37-month lease of 2,315 square feet at 2875 E. Patrick Lane, Suite L, to Western Manufacturing Sales for $85,133. In another transaction, Dan Doherty and Pat Marsh represented both parties in Rousso Investments' lease of 14,160 square feet at 3915 Hacienda Ave., Suites 103-107, to George Raymond Co. for $51,000. Doherty represented Roberts Ranch Venture in its three-year lease of 7,536 square feet at 1201 American Pacific Drive, Suites G and H, to Meehan's Salon Specialists for $156,000. Doherty, Marsh and Todd Long represented EJM Development Co. in its 10-year lease of 38,584 square feet at 6275 S. Pearl St., Suites 100-700, to Wick Communications Inc. for $2.8 million.
