Frequent movers settle at Serena

Richard and Carol Boivie have moved 35 times. But they believe their latest home, located at Coventry Homes' Serena neighborhood in North Las Vegas, will be their last.
"We had been looking for about three weeks," Richard Boivie said. "It seemed that we looked every single day and every single minute, but we couldn't find anything we liked.
"I happened to be with my son driving by Serena at nine in the morning. We noticed that they were open and decided to go in."
The couple purchased the three-bedroom, two-bath, 1,777-square-foot San Miguel model.
"I really liked the openness of the San Miguel home as well," Boivie said. "It has a big, wonderful kitchen and eating area, and that's very important to Carol ... The master bedroom also went beyond our expectations."
He said they found the "ideal" package in the home theater system, which includes flush-mounted speakers, a receiver, VCR and 32-inch television.
Also important to the couple was that the home has enough yard for a garden and roses and that the home has rooms for visitors.
The builder is selling off the model homes, which are priced from the mid-$150,000s to mid-$180,000s.
The San Juan model, a 1,629-square-foot, single-story residence, includes three bedrooms, two baths, plantation shutters and a covered patio.
The San Miguel, a 1,777-square-foot, single-story floor plan, offers three bedrooms, a great room, two baths, a two-car garage, built-ins and crown molding.
At 2,147 square feet, the single-story San Gabriel comes with four bedrooms, a family room, a mirrored dining room, two baths and a two-car garage.
Various features include upgraded carpet, wood or stone flooring, and backyard landscaping. Kitchens offer upgraded counter tops, menu desks, island workstations and refrigerators. Washers and dryers are also available with each home.
To visit, take Craig Road to Clayton Street, go north to Lone Mountain Road, head west to Tierra de Palmas Drive and follow the signs.
Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. except Friday, when they open at 10 a.m.
