Ex-Californian's home search ends at Nigro's Desert Bloom
Former California resident Michael Kirihara anticipated a long search for a new home in Las Vegas. However, a visit to Nigro Associates' Desert Bloom neighborhood in Summerlin cut short the search.
"Desert Bloom was the third new neighborhood I looked at, and once I saw the overall design and the model homes, I knew I had found exactly what I was looking for," Kirihara said.
"Desert Bloom has an appealing style of architecture that looks nothing like common tract homes. Also, I have the privacy of a detached home, yet all of the front- and rear-yard maintenance is taken care of. Having a community swimming pool and clubhouse is another plus, as I can enjoy all of the facilities without any added maintenance responsibilities."
Six floor plans are available, ranging from 1,100 to 1,650 square feet with two or three bedrooms. The largest plan can be expanded to 2,000 square feet.
Homes are priced from $119,490.
Kirihara chose the Sundance plan. The single-story home offers three bedrooms, or two bedrooms plus a den, and two baths in 1,402 square feet.
"I chose the Sundance because it's a well-designed home that feels much larger than the actual square footage," he said. "It has a very large great room and dining area, conveniently located off the kitchen. The entire floor plan is very open and airy with lots of windows. I also selected a home site with wonderful views, so from just about any window in my home I can enjoy the beauty of nature."
Home interiors include 9-foot ceilings, media niches, ceramic-tile entries and counter tops, oak cabinets in a choice of finishes, and raised-panel doors.
Community amenities include a 1,200-square-foot community center with a kitchen, a swimming pool, spa, and patio with a fireplace and water feature.
To visit the neighborhood, take Summerlin Parkway to Town Center Drive, go south to Alta Drive and head west, following the signs.
The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
