Anthem Country Club's fitness center set to open next month

Anthem Country Club members will soon discover that one of the best athletic clubs in the Las Vegas Valley is right outside their front door, according to sales agents.
Next month, the development will debut its 13,700-square-foot athletic club with a fitness center as well as locations for aerobics, swimming, basketball, sand volleyball and tennis.
Pam Raby, fitness director at the club, has nearly eight years of experience in fitness and wellness. She worked at Del Webb's Terravita community in Scottsdale, Ariz., where many of the programs she was responsible for will be implemented at Anthem Country Club.
The programs include hiking excursions, water aerobics, youth programs, fitness assessments, individualized exercise programs, personal training and more.
"We will have personal trainers on-site that either have a degree or are certified," Raby said.
The new facility will also house a full-service salon, with hair, nail, massage and facial services. Additional amenities include a child-care center, locker rooms and a poolside cafe.
The country club's trail system will connect the neighborhoods to the recreational amenities. A four-acre park, The Commons, will feature event lawns and an amphitheater.
Winding through the community is the Keith Foster/Hale Irwin-designed championship golf course. Equity and recallable golf memberships are available.
The country club's 33,000-square-foot clubhouse will offer a main dining room, a meeting room, a grill and sports bar, administrative offices, a pro shop and locker rooms.
The development comprises about 1,000 acres of Del Webb's nearly 5,000-acre master-planned community of Anthem.
There are 17 floor plans and more than 50 variations, including second stories, basements and casitas. Most homes will back up to the golf course.
Four series of homes are available in addition to custom-home sites. Floor plans range from 1,275 to 5,769 square feet, and are priced from $161,000 to $590,000. The design center's staff assists buyers.
To visit, take Eastern Avenue south, two miles past Lake Mead Drive. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Del Webb communities in Nevada include Coventry Homes, Sun City Summerlin and Sun City MacDonald Ranch.
