Waterfront dining available at Lake Las Vegas Resort
Lake Las Vegas Resort, a residential and resort destination enveloping a 320-acre private lake in Henderson, has unveiled Mira Lago at Reflection Bay Golf Club, which offers lakeside dining and golf course views. The restaurant's New American cuisine with Mediterranean-inspired accents features the culinary creations of executive chef Roland August. Among his dishes are steamed mussels and clams in a garlic saffron broth with Italian sausage, crab cakes with lobster claw and mango-cilantro colis, and seared sesame-crusted ahi tuna. Indoor and patio seating are available. Entrées are priced from $9.95 to $29.95. Reservations are recommended. La Chandele, the resort's special events venue also located at Mira Lago, provides special occasion menus, catering and décor for weddings, meetings, luncheons, golf tournament breakfasts and other events. A variety of dining options also is offered at Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas Resort. Its signature restaurant is Japengo. In addition to fine dining, the resort offers a variety of residential opportunities, ranging from waterfront residences and custom sites to golf villas and townhomes. Behind the gates of the 550-acre SouthShore development, custom-home sites are available in several enclaves with views of the lake, mountains and golf courses, and prices ranging from the $300,000s to more than $2 million. Also available are Italian-style waterfront villas, executive homes set in the hills, and golf villas overlooking the private SouthShore Golf Club. On the northern shore, four residential enclaves are adjacent to the Reflection Bay Golf Club, with prices ranging from the $400,000s to more than $1 million. Along with semicustom townhomes and single-family homes, single- and two-story fairway homes and European-style resort villas are available. Potential buyers can take a free water taxi ride from Reflection Bay to the Hyatt Regency and along the South- Shore community. Various leisure activities are available at the resort. Its full-service marina features a boat launch; convenience store; boat cleaning, maintenance and refreshment stocking services; new boat sales; and boat and "water toy" rentals. Adjacent to the marina is the private SouthShore Yacht & Beach Club, which features a sand beach, picnic and lawn area, outdoor pool and spa, fitness area, tennis and basketball facilities, meeting room, and banquet facilities. Opportunities to golf abound. Two Jack Nicklaus-designed courses are open -- the private 6,917-yard South- Shore Golf Club and the 7,261-yard Reflection Bay Golf Club. The community's third course, the Tom Weiskopf-designed The Falls Golf Club, will open to the public in September. A fourth course, the Tom Fazio-designed Rainbow Canyon Golf Club, is planned. Also planned is MonteLago Village, a shopping and dining experience scheduled to debut in early 2003. The village will include the Ritz-Carlton, Lake Las Vegas; a spa; casino; boutiques; restaurants and cafes; office space; and condominiums. Construction on the first phase of Viera, a condominium complex with up to 177 units, is on schedule with an anticipated opening next spring. Developed by Intrawest, the complex offers four floor plans, including studios, as well as some units with as many as three bedrooms and three baths. They measure from 500 to 3,000 square feet and are priced from $250,000 to $1 million. To visit, take Lake Mead Drive, seven miles east of Boulder Highway, to Lake Las Vegas Parkway.
