Real Estate Achievements
n Michael Newman has been named managing partner of the Las Vegas office of Colliers International. For the past six years, he was vice president of commercial leasing at The Howard Hughes Corp. Newman will assume his new post in January, and replaces Jim Stuart, who is leaving the company to pursue other business ventures.
n Kaufman and Broad has promoted Carrie Sanchez to director of marketing at its Las Vegas division. Sanchez was previously sales and marketing manager and has been with the company since 1993. Debra Nemeth, who was a marketing assistant at Lewis Homes Management Corp. before the company merged with Kaufman and Broad, has been named advertising manager for the division. Nemeth was affiliated with Lewis Homes for six years.
n First American Title Co. of Nevada has added First American Exchange Corporation of Nevada to its family services. Heading the new division is Michelle Hinkle, vice president; and Liz Jones, director of marketing. Hinkle has been active in the commercial and resale market for 16 years. Jones has been associated with First American for four years.
n The Clark County Department of Comprehensive Planning has formed a team to research major project development, including master-planned communities. Team members are: Chris Armstrong, land use applications and zoning plans check; Marc Bolduc, drainage/hydrology, improvement plans and bond estimates; Brett Clark, subdivision, mapping and zoning plans check; Gordon Derr, traffic, improvement plans and bond estimates; Mara Lombardo, team support; and Barbara Ginoulias, team leader and planning manager for current planning.
n CB Richard Ellis' Paul Hoyt and Kevin Higgins negotiated Vista Holdings' purchase of 4.78 acres on Sunset Road, east of Jones Boulevard, from David R. Ross for $1.07 million. Hoyt and Higgins also arranged the five-year lease of 6,230 square feet at 5550 S. Cameron St., Unit C, on behalf of RMS Limited Partnership to Smalley & Co. for $40,000. In another transaction, Bill Dunbar represented Nevada Bob's Golf in the 10-year lease of 7,560 square feet at 3999 S. Las Vegas Blvd. from Chetak Development for $5 million. Dunbar also represented Center Trust Retail Properties in the five-year lease of 2,250 square feet at 1814 E. Charleston Blvd. to Tandem Staffing for $150,000.
n Nevada First Business Brokers Inc. closed escrow on the Victory Motel and Panorama Liquor Store at 307 and 311 Main St. for $975,000. Frank Warlick represented the seller, Steven Wheeler; and the buyers, Mike and Selam Hasan. In another transaction, Douglas Bendell represented both the seller, Janet Anes, and the buyer, Patrick Reznak, in the sale of In the Dark Printing, 4440 S. Arville St., Suite 17, for $145,000.
n GVA Industrial Property Group's David Stubbs and Art Farmanali represented Millennium Enterprises of Nevada in the three-year lease of 3,510 square feet at 975 American Pacific Drive in Henderson to 1st National Bankcard Inc. for $144,556. In another transaction, Al Kingham represented Preferred Equities Corp. in the sale of 16.42 acres at the intersection of Blagg and Comstock streets in Pahrump to Terry McNulte for $140,000. Also, Xavier Wasiak and Dean Willmore represented both parties in Maurice Lebanoff's purchase of 3.4 acres at Donovan Way and Craig Road in North Las Vegas from Golden Point Partners I for $674,308.
n Colliers International's Michael DeLew, Thomas van Betten and Spencer Pinter represented Reno-Arville Associates in the 37-month, 1,750-square-foot lease at 5085 S. Arville St. to Vegas Valley Service and Sharpening for $49,763. In another transaction, van Betten, DeLew and Greg Pancirov represented VHB Associates L.V. in the 63-month lease of 5,946 square feet at 6100 Mountain Vista St. to MGM Mortgage Co. for $353,634.
n Lee & Associates' Mel Koich and Carla Kurtz represented both sides in the five-year lease of 5,067 square feet at 6879 Speedway Blvd., Suite V101, from Las Vegas Motor Speedway to Winners Circle Kustom Auto Body for $84,550. Koich and Kurtz also represented both parties in the five-year lease of 2,533 square feet at 6947 Speedway Blvd., Suite S108, from Las Vegas Motor Speedway to Printing Creations for $48,901. Also, Koich, Steve Spelman and Scott Owens represented Pacific Properties/Northwestern Mutual and Michael Kammerling represented Sofa Connection in the five-year lease of 14,725 square feet at 186 Gallagher Crest Road in Henderson for $312,648.
n NAI Americana Commercial's Jeff Satterlee and Arlene Nehls represented Data Plus Inc. in the three-year lease of 5,040 square feet at 1111 Marycrest Drive with BHI for $127,839.
n Realty Executives' Soozi Jones Walker represented Juliet Office Park in the three-year lease of 1,774 square feet at 8375 W. Flamingo Road, Suite 101, to Delta Realty and Development, which was represented by Delta Realty's Garland Talbot, for $111,762.
n CB Richard Ellis' Christina Roush and Charles Moore represented Bank of America in the sale of .79 acres west of the northwest corner of Cheyenne Avenue and Durango Drive to Cheydur Investors, which was represented by Kit Graski and Alex O, for $520,000. In another transaction, Lisa Gonzales and Brad Peterson represented Vegan Development in the 20-month lease of 1,042 square feet at 1850 E. Flamingo Road, Suite 114, to HCA Architects for $40,000. Peterson, Gonzales and Randy Broadhead negotiated the 10-year lease of 15,000 square feet at Sahara Avenue and Mountain Vista Street to Switch & Data NV One from Mark A. Schnippel Family Trust for $1.78 million.
n Nevada First Business Brokers Inc.'s Ed Smith represented John Wooge in the sale of Port of Subs, 2660 S. Maryland Parkway, to Tom Zisa, who was represented by Nevada First's Sheldon Bloom, for $110,000. In another transaction, Smith represented both the seller, Clifton DeWitt, and the buyer, James Norton, in the sale of D&D Machining, 1665 S. Mojave Road, for $265,000.
n Lee & Associates' Jacqueline Young and Judi Woodyard-Suntic represented both sides in the eight-year lease of 3,659 square feet at 2700 W. Sahara Ave. to Bank West of Nevada from GRS Sahara Avenue Corp. for $800,411. In another transaction, David Flynn represented American Structural Engineers in the two-year lease of 2,268 square feet at 6950 Via Oliver St. from Emmanuel Markakis for $64,648. In another transaction, Chuck Witters represented Integrated Information Systems in the five-year lease of 3,689 square feet at 3930 Howard Hughes Parkway from The Howard Hughes Corp. for $524,575.
n Colliers International's Scott Gragson, John Kilpatrick and Robert Torres represented First Security Trust Co.'s sale of 5 acres at the southeast corner of Maule Avenue and Jerlyn Street to Alan J. Arnold for $435,000. In another transaction, Gragson, Kilpatrick and Torres represented Gragson Isla Sol I in the purchase of 5 acres at Sobb Avenue and Bonita Vista Street from Haskell Swink for $475,000.
