Artist delighted with Sun City Anthem home

Rita Malkin said the design of her new home at Sun City Anthem is ideal for her to pursue her interest in art.
"My home provides a perfect setting to continue my passion for glass sculpting. I make custom bowls, platters, jewelry, night lights and stained-glass windows," said Malkin, a professional artist.
She purchased the Monroe model, which measures 1,596 square feet.
"I love the expansive window space and the way it brightens the home," Malkin said. "The open floor plan also supplies the ideal amount of space for me to feel creative and enjoy my work."
A 26-year resident of Las Vegas, Malkin knew when the time came to buy a new home that it would be at Anthem, Del Webb's master-planned community in Henderson.
"Anthem is a great place to make a new beginning," she said. "I moved to Anthem to get away from the stress of the business world while continuing to live an active life. I enjoy the interaction with neighbors and the activities available at Sun City Anthem."
Malkin plans to hold classes in glass sculpting for her fellow residents when the recreation center is completed next spring.
At buildout, there will be three championship golf courses. The Revere, which opened last April, is set in natural washes and winds throughout the development. Situated on an elevated site, the course also offers views of the Las Vegas Valley.
Homes are priced from the low $140,000s to the mid-$290,000s and range from the 1,235-square-foot Madison plan to the 3,009-square-foot Anthem model.
Anthem Country Club and Coventry Homes are also located within Anthem, which is on Eastern Avenue, about two miles south of Lake Mead Drive.
Del Webb has been building homes for more than 60 years.
