GlenEagles buyer likes variations
First-time home buyer Pete Anderson looked at many new neighborhoods in North Las Vegas before finding the value, quality and location he wanted at Wexford at GlenEagles.
The Wexford Homes neighborhood features two subdivisions of one- and two-story homes, ranging from 912 to 3,248 square feet. They range from two-bedroom and two-bath models to homes with as many as six bedrooms and 4 1/2 baths. Three-car garages are available with some homes. Six model homes are set to open in February 2000.
Prices start from $104,990.
Anderson, who is a mixer/driver for a concrete company, said he made careful comparisons before buying a home.
"I found that I really got more square footage and better features for the price at Wexford at GlenEagles," Anderson said.
"I was impressed by the number of floor-plan variations Wexford Homes offered in this price range," he said. "I chose a two-bedroom home and was able to extend the size of my living room, which will give me much more usable space. Since I'll be occupying the home by myself, my second bedroom will serve perfectly as a home office. My back yard will offer plenty of room for me and my dog, and I intend to install a nice-sized patio and hot tub. My yard is spacious, but not so big that I will have to spend all of my spare time maintaining it."
Home buyers have access to a computer design system that allows them to view many floor-plan variations, such as adding a family room, bedroom, den, second owner suite, formal dining room, kitchen nook or fireplace.
Options include Corian, granite and ceramic-tile counter tops; fireplaces in family rooms, living rooms and owner suites; skylights; custom interior paint; and upgraded appliances. Other upgrades include custom cabinetry, electrical and plumbing fixture packages, computer wiring and home theater systems, and security systems.
Among the standard amenities are concrete-tile roofs, front-yard landscaping with irrigation, and block walls.
Interiors feature vaulted ceilings; plant shelves; rounded corners; choice of cabinetry; owner suites with dual-sink vanities, tubs and walk-in closets in some floor plans; laundry rooms; and prewiring for cable TV.
