Subcontractor purchases Pulte home

     As a subcontractor who has worked on a number of Pulte Homes' developments, Howard Johnson has witnessed construction of homes from start to finish. When he was looking for a permanent place to call home, Johnson, the vice president of sales for a cabinet company, chose Pulte's Premier Series in the northwest valley.
      The neighborhood has since completed sales, but similar floor plans and price ranges can be found at the builder's Brentwood neighborhood.
      "Since I've worked closely with Pulte Homes on several communities, I was confident that I would be purchasing one of the best built homes in the valley," Johnson said. "This particular community was very appealing to me because of the spacious floor plan with vaulted ceilings and large rooms throughout, which makes it functional for entertaining family and friends."
      Johnson added a patio cover, surround sound in every room, and solid-surface counter tops in the kitchen. He also chose custom cabinetry in the kitchen and baths.
      The builder offers homes priced from the $90,000s to $200,000s. Floor plans range from 1,023 to 3,131 square feet.
      The builder's Brentwood neighborhood is located in Summerlin's The Willows village. It offers five single-story floor plans ranging from 1,141 to 1,653 square feet. Prices start at $125,990. Homes are available for quick move-ins.
      Kitchens feature oak cabinetry in a choice of finishes, appliances and pantries in some plans. Owner bedrooms, per plan, feature walk-in closets with custom shelving, separate showers and tubs, and dual sinks.
      Exterior features include front-yard landscaping with irrigation, 45x115 home sites, flat concrete-tile roofs, block walls and street-facing walls with stucco and paint. There is also a park.
      All of the homes are designated as Engineered for Life, which means they include several energy-saving features.
      To visit, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way, to Blue Willow Lane and go south, following the signs to The Willows Homewalk. Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at noon.
      Also in The Willows is Crown Ridge, which has four single-story floor plans ranging from 2,422 to 3,012 square feet. Prices start at $223,990. The location and office hours are the same.
