Southern Nevada's contractors honor peers

The Nevada Contractors Association held its first "Contractor of the Year" awards ceremony last month. Several companies were recognized in various categories for their achievement and leadership within the industry.

The honorees were:

Las Vegas Paving Corp., contractor of the year; KHS&S Contractors, subcontractor of the year; Wells Fargo Institutional Investment Management, associate of the year; Perini Building Co., safest contractor; Rick Ewing of Las Vegas Paving Corp., recruiter of the year; The Paris Resort by Perini Building Co., project of the year; and the Sloan Pumping Station by Las Vegas Paving Corp., best heavy/highway/civil project.

The awards ceremony was held at the Stardust, and is expected to become an annual event, according to Jack Schaefer, association presi- dent.
