Pardee Homes renews holiday pledge to Shade Tree
SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE For the sixth consecutive year, Pardee Homes of Nevada has made a holiday pledge to the Shade Tree Shelter for homeless women and their children. For each home sold during December at the builder's Crescendo neighborhood in Seven Hills, Pardee will donate $500 to the nonprofit organization. In past years, Shade Tree has received thousands of dollars in donations from the builder through its December promotions in its Summerlin neighborhoods including Hermosa, Westridge and Rosedale, according to Ray Landry, assistant vice president for sales in Nevada. "This year, we'll bring awareness of the shelter to the Seven Hills community," Landry said. "The Shade Tree Shelter has been a tremendous help in meeting the needs of women and children in crisis for many years in Southern Nevada. Pardee has made a commitment to the community to assist in the success of Shade Tree for many years to come." In its 10 years of operation, Shade Tree has served more than 25,000 women and children in need, and recently celebrated the grand opening of a new 38,000-square-foot facility at Main Street and Owens Avenue in downtown Las Vegas. "We have filled all 364 beds every night since opening in early November," Brenda Dizon, executive director of Shade Tree, said. "Before the new building had been completed, we were very limited on space, so we ended up turning away approximately 100 to 200 needy women and children weekly. "With continued assistance from corporate donors like Pardee Homes of Nevada, and the countless number of supportive residents, Shade Tree has the capability of assisting more women and children who desperately need our help. Donations of any kind are appreciated, from bus tokens to disposable diapers, our clients need many of the basics that others might not think of as important." Crescendo offers three two-story floor plans and nine exterior designs. Homes range from 2,473 to 3,068 square feet and are priced from $199,950 to $221,950. To visit, take St. Rose Parkway to Seven Hills Drive, which is west of Eastern Avenue, and head south, following the signs. The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
