Arbor View buyers flee rainy weather
Realtors Bill and Sandy Rennewanz left the rainy weather of Vancouver, Wash., and found a new home for themselves and their cat, Sabil, in Las Vegas. After looking at many developments throughout the valley, the couple purchased a home at Cypress Pointe/Arbor View, a Pulte Homes neighborhood in Summerlin's The Arbors village.
"As Realtors, we are very knowledgeable about the home-building industry and knew we were purchasing a quality product with Pulte Homes," Sandy Rennewanz said. "Pulte had all the elements we were looking for in a home, plus the guaranteed low heating and cooling bills were a major selling point."
The Rennewanzes chose the Noble model, a 1,900-square-foot home with a two-car garage, four bedrooms, an optional teen room, great room, kitchen and storage room. A den, study or hobby room is optional.
Sandy cited the plant shelves, cathedral ceilings and architectural angles as reasons why she likes the home.
The single-story homes range from 1,787 to 2,260 square feet and prices start at $182,990.
To visit, take Summerlin Parkway to Town Center Drive, go south to Banburry Cross Drive and turn right. Make another right on Laurelglen Drive and follow the signs. Models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Monday when they open at noon.
Homes are constructed with Engineered for Life features, which may allow buyers to qualify for energy-efficient mortgages in addition to reducing their utility bills by as much as 30 percent.
One of those features is the Cocoon system, which uses cellulose instead of conventional insulation in the walls to create a blown-in insulation that encapsulates pipes and wiring in all exterior walls, providing a more complete seal.
The builder also offers solar water-heating systems at all of its single-family home developments except Cypress Pointe/Arbor View. Homes with gas or electric water heaters using solar energy systems show annual savings from 52 percent to 79 percent on utility bills, according to the builder.
The builder backs its product with a 10-year transferable warranty.
