First-time home buyers tout Vistana amenities


     First-time home buyers Carlos and Claudia Guenaga concluded their three-month home search at Vistana, a condominium development by Rhodes Homes.
      "We felt that the homes at Vistana were very attractive and, at the same time, affordable," Carlos Guenaga said. "Living here is like living in a resort, where everything you need for leisure is within steps of your front door and there are no maintenance responsibilities. That was important to us as we both have full-time jobs and are also college students. With our busy schedules, we can enjoy the fitness center, the swimming pool and spa, and the other amenities without having to drive outside our own neighborhood."
      The gated complex, located in the Rhodes Ranch, offers nine floor plans, ranging from 670 to 1,413 square feet with as many as three bedrooms and two baths. Attached garages are optional.
      Homes are priced from the mid-$60,000s. Qualified buyers may have a total move-in cost of 1 percent of the purchase price.
      "Our home is spacious feeling and very comfortable for the two of us. It has an attached garage, with access to the front entry of our home, which means better security and convenience," Claudia Guenaga said.
      "We also love the fireplace, which is positioned perfectly in the living room, so it is also visible from the dining and kitchen area. There is a separate utility room for the washer and dryer, ... and the owner suite is wonderful with an oval tub and a very large walk-in closet. Best of all, we were able to select a home with a wonderful view of the Las Vegas Strip. We're very happy with every aspect of this home."
      Homes include appliances, breakfast bars and cultured-marble vanities in baths.
      The Spanish-theme complex features Mediterranean-style architecture and a 7,500-square-foot clubhouse with a swimming pool, spa, sauna, tennis court, fitness center and billiards area. Other amenities include a water feature, walkways, gazebos, barbecues and landscaped open space.
      To visit, take Tropicana Avenue to Durango Drive, then go south to Warm Springs Road.
