Americana Group, Realtors/Better Homes and Gardens is presenting a free home-buying seminar at 7 p.m. TuesdayJan. 12.
The seminar wil be at the realty company's office, 2625 N. Green Valley Parkway, behind Chili's. It will cover what facts to know before buying a home and how to avoid expensive mistakes in home purchasing.

H&L Realty is hosting the Chairman's Circle for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society in conjunction with the 1999 annual Relay for Life at 11:45 a.m. ThursdayJan. 14.

The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors is offering the course "All About Commercial Leasing" from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday at the association's office, 1750 E. Sahara Ave.
Taught by Lucinda Stanley, the course will cover zoning codes and how they affect leasing, CAMS and effective rents.

The Commercial Real Estate Women of Southern Nevada is holding a luncheon meeting from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. ThursdayJan. 14 at The Mirage.
A discussion titled "Today's Capital Market," will feature Alan Crittendon of The Crittendon Reports; Jay Ganske of Norwest Bank; and Neil Dillon of Wellington Mortgage Capital.

Counseling service
holds buyer courses
Consumer Credit Counseling Service of Southern Nevada is hosting free home-buyer seminars through January.
Classes in English will be held WednesdayJan. 13 and Jan. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day. Another session will meet SaturdayJan. 16 and Jan. 23 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A course in Spanish is scheduled for WednesdayJan. 13, Jan. 20 and 27, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Participants must attend all 12 hours in the series they select to receive the program's Certificate of Education.
Speakers will discuss the benefits of homeownership. Topics include building and improving credit, obtaining a mortgage, real estate disclosure and homeowners associations.
Classes are held at the credit service's offices, 3650 S. Decatur Blvd., Suite 32.
