Sun City MacDonald Ranch rings in new year with international party

Sun City MacDonald Ranch residents rang in 1999 with an international-themed party.
"We rang in the new year around the world," said Linda Busack, activities supervisor at the age-restricted community. "It was a great way to celebrate the last new year before 2000."
From Mexican fiesta food to South of Italy fare, residents were treated to a variety of entrees and desserts.
"We had a sweet Bavarian corridor, featuring the finest desserts and a touch of home with a Napa Valley-tasting experience," Busack said.
Coverage of the nation's new year parties was provided and music for the party was furnished by Don Cloe.
Sun City MacDonald Ranch features the executive-length Desert Willow Golf Course, designed by PGA Hall of Fame golfer Billy Casper and golf course architect Greg Nash. At 3,845 yards, the course has six par-4s and some lengthy par-3s.
The 564-acre Henderson community will contain 2,500 homes and villas at buildout.
To visit, take Lake Mead Drive to Green Valley Parkway and head south. The sales office is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Homes are priced from the $100,000s to the $170,000s, with floor plans ranging from 1,020 to 2,014 square feet.
Del Webb's newest development, Anthem, recently opened 33 of its model homes in the villages of Anthem Country Club, a guard-gated country club; Sun City Anthem, for people at least 55 years old; and Coventry Homes at Anthem for families.
The company has Sun City developments nationwide, country club communities, and Coventry Homes neighborhoods throughout the Southwest.
