Coventry Homes sales exec says features popular at The Huntington


     Buyers have been impressed by the front porches and covered patios that are included at The Huntington, according to Gloria Rice, marketing manager for Coventry Homes.
      "Covered patios provide our home buyers with added energy efficiency by shading patio windows," Rice said. "Our customers are saving about $3,000 that they would otherwise spend on a patio and cover as an upgrade or addition to their home.
      "The covered porch and patio covers are features we have found to help make our residents' new houses feel like home. We are constantly talking with our residents to find out which features they like the most."
      One such resident is De Ann Jensen, who recently purchased a new home at the neighborhood. "It was amazing to me how much home you can get for the money," Jensen said.
      Also included in the purchase price are raised-panel interior doors, enclosed rear yards with gates, recessed lighting and garage service doors leading to the rear yards.
      Homes are priced from the $110,000s.
      The Newport model measures 1,156 square feet with two bedrooms, an optional den, and two baths. The Malibu has three bedrooms, an optional loft or dual owner suite, and 2 1/2 baths. With 1,665 square feet, the Del Mar offers two bedrooms, an optional loft or third bedroom, and two baths.
      The Laguna can be built with two bedrooms, a loft and two baths, or with three bedrooms and three baths in 1,665 square feet. The Carmel plan measures 1,940 square feet with three bedrooms, or dual owner suites, and 2 1/2 baths. With 2,196 square feet, the Monterey provides four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths.
      Also available is the two-story La Jolla, which measures 1,858 square feet with a dual owner suite plus a third bedroom and three baths. The Carlsbad is a two-story home with three bedrooms, dual owner suite option, and 2 1/2 baths in 1,965 square feet.
      The neighborhood is in the southern valley, and one of five the builder is developing in the Las Vegas Valley. To visit, take Eastern Avenue to Silverado Ranch Road and head west. Sales office and model hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except Friday, when they open at noon.
