New York-based development mogul joins New Frontier owner in condo-hotel project
SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE
On hand last week for the ground breaking of The Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas were businessman Donald J. Trump and New Frontier Hotel owner Phil G. Ruffin, partners in the project. The 2 million-square-foot high-rise development is located on a portion of the New Frontier property, adjacent to Fashion Show mall.
"The Trump International Hotel & Tower Las Vegas drew an immediate and phenomenal response among buyers from around the globe," Trump said.

"People familiar with the quality of Trump properties wanted to be among the first to reserve their place in our latest achievement, right in the heart of one of the world's most glamorous and exciting cities. From the center Strip location to the luxurious condominium-hotel units and spectacular views, this is going to be a true showpiece. ... When completed, we envision it as being the crown jewel of the Las Vegas Strip."
The tower's exterior will be clad in 24-karat gold glass.
Sales representatives said all 1,282 condominium-hotel units have been reserved, and that prices in the final phase ranged from the $600,000s to $6 million.
There will be 880 studio and 352 one-bedroom suites on the 16th through 59th floors, and 50 one-, two- and three-bedroom penthouse suites on the upper five floors.
All units will be furnished and decorated. Highlights will include floor-to-ceiling windows, European-style kitchens with upscale appliances, and Italian marble flooring in the entries and baths. The master baths will contain dual-sink vanities, marble counter tops and spa tubs. Additional features will include owners' lockout closets, plasma TVs, cable television and in-suite movies.
"Donald is a great builder and innovative thinker," Ruffin said. "His insistence on using only the highest quality materials is impressive. Remember, the difference between a good project and a great project is paying the extra 30 percent to get the best materials, as we have done here."
Residents and guests will enjoy access to 24-hour concierge and security services; a professionally managed spa, fitness center and salon; an outdoor heated pool and sundeck with a bar; a business center with meeting facilities; doorman and valet parking services; and fine and casual dining.
The project architect is Bergman, Walls and Associates Ltd. Architects of Las Vegas; the general contractor is Perini Building Co; and the interior designer is Design 360 Unlimited of Santa Monica, Calif.
Although all units have been reserved, prospective buyers are invited to register their names should some units become available for sale.
The sales and information office is located at 3128 Las Vegas Blvd. South, at Fashion Show Drive. Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
