Real Estate Achievements


     n The Howard Hughes Corp. has promoted four executives to the rank of senior vice president. Rita G. Brandin has been promoted to the post of senior vice president, retail development; J. Patrick Done is senior vice president, properties; Frank R. Beck is senior vice president, commercial development; and John T. Potts is senior vice president for Summerlin development. Brandin joined The Rouse Co., The Howard Hughes Corp.'s parent, 10 years ago and came to Las Vegas earlier this year as the corporation's Fashion Show mall development director. She will oversee the continued expansion of Fashion Show and the development of a regional shopping center in Summerlin. Done joined The Rouse Co. in 1985 and will continue to serve as vice president and group director of that company in addition to directing the leasing, marketing and financial management of The Howard Hughes Corp.'s office and mixed-use division. Beck joined The Howard Hughes Corp.'s Los Angeles division in 1989 and moved to Las Vegas in 1994. He will oversee the development of the company's commercial and industrial property in Las Vegas. Potts joined The Howard Hughes Corp. last year after serving as senior vice president, western region, for Westbrook Communities. He will be responsible for the engineering design and construction of Summerlin.
      n Del Mar Mortgage has appointed Stephen Byrne to the post of president. He was formerly the mortgage banker's senior lending officer. Before joining Del Mar, Byrne was the founder and president of CapSource, which underwrote construction loans, and was an executive with Wells Fargo Bank for 17 years.
      n Marriott International has appointed Kaci Feldman to the post of account manager for the Las Vegas/Summerlin Courtyard by Marriott on North Rainbow Boulevard. She was a restaurant supervisor at the Las Vegas Marriott Suites. Feldman graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a degree in hotel administration.
      n The Firm public relations and marketing agency has been retained to direct the public relations campaigns for The Eastridge Group of Staffing Companies.
      n Southwest Communities' Harvey Stearn reports Kimball Hill Homes, Beazer Homes, Southwest Homes and Developers of Nevada have committed to building new homes at Southwest's 275-acre Lynbrook development near Centennial and Jones boulevards. Stearn also reported that negotiations are proceeding with four more builders. Model construction will start next month.
      n Lee & Associates' G. Rodney Harbaugh negotiated the sale of a 24,604-square-foot building at 2802 S. Valley View Blvd. by Dowsett Point Partners to High Sierra Communications for $3.9 million. In another transaction, Shawn Barashy negotiated the sale of 1.98 acres at the northwest corner of Marco Street and Cecile Avenue by Cecile Associates to Tom Walker for $262,904. In another transaction, Barashy negotiated the sale of 1.25 acres at the northwest corner of Post and Wynn roads by Patricia Pool to Sam Goldfarb for $247,500. In another transaction, Judi Woodyard-Suntic, Laurelle Temple-Pico and Jackie Young negotiated the sale of 1.59 acres at the southwest corner of Mountain Vista Street and Ramrod Avenue by Whitney Mesa Partners to WRS Co. for $516,105.
      n Coldwell Banker Commercial-ETN's Michael Belnick represented Harold Valoff in the sale of a four-unit apartment building at 3621 Ala Drive to Trinda Rolfe for $189,900. In another transaction, David Howell represented Cameron-Hacienda Co. in the two-year lease of 1,620 square feet at 5321 S. Cameron St. to Performance Underground for $28,762.
      n Terra West Realty's Bernie Chippoleth and Jayne Cayton represented Southpoint Partnership in the three-year lease of 2,000 square feet at 235 E. Warm Springs Road to Virgen Advertising for $100,800.
      n GVA Industrial Property Group's Dean Willmore represented The Turtle Stop in the three-year lease of 5,778 square feet at 4572 W. Hacienda Ave. from The Menna Trust for $125,390.
      n CB Richard Ellis' Christina Roush represented The Virginia A. Rashmir Trust in the sale of a 12,700-square-foot building at 700 W. Sunset Road to Brent Marshall and Mario Sanchez for $725,000.
      n Realty Executives' Soozi Jones represented Peter C. Brown and Bremer & Whyte in the two-year lease of 2,610 square feet at 801 S. Rancho Drive from Quail Park 1 Co. for $104,892.
      n Lee & Associates' Chuck Witters represented Hartford Life Insurance Co. in the five-year lease of 4,520 square feet at 750 E. Warm Springs Road from McCarran Center 1 Co. for $543,700. In another transaction, Witters represented Panasonic Corporate Systems in the five-year lease of 15,360 square feet at 6860 Bermuda Road from McCarran Center II Co. for $966,700. In another transaction, Witters represented Fremont Indemnity in the five-year lease of 5,285 square feet at 7251 W. Lake Mead Blvd. from Pauls Corp. for $656,400. In another transaction, Witters represented LifeSigns in the 10-year lease of 5,102 square feet at 7251 W. Lake Mead Blvd. from Pauls Corp. for $1.4 million.
      n Terra West Realty's Gary Burgher represented B&R Enterprises in the purchase of a 5,370-square-foot building at 1989 Whitney Mesa Drive from VHB Associates L.V. Co. for $425,000.
      n Lee & Associates' Judi Woodyard-Suntic and Laurelle Temple-Pico represented the Education Support Employees Association of Clark County Health and Welfare Fund in the five-year lease of 16,179 square feet at 5740 S. Eastern Ave. from Siefert Investments for $1.8 million.
