Wexford touts strong sales at GlenEagles

     Wexford Homes, a Longford Co. subsidiary, reports that 85 homes have been sold at GlenEagles, where the models are not scheduled to open until August.
      "Our first buyers made their selections based either on plans or on what they saw in the first homes we had under construction here," Barbara Barnett, director of sales, said. "The response has been overwhelming, resulting in sales that greatly exceeded our initial expectations."
      The single- and two-story floor plans range from 912 to 2,151 square feet with as many as six bedrooms. Three-car garages are available with select plans. Homes are priced from $109,990.
      "We offer buyers an opportunity to literally design their own homes," Barnett said. "By taking advantage of our Wexford Design System, they can consider adding a family room, one or more bedrooms, a den, master bedroom suite, casita with bath, formal dining room, bonus room, office, wet bar, loft, third-car garage and many other possibilities."
      Options include Corian, granite and ceramic-tile counter tops; fireplaces in the family room, living room or owner suite; skylights; custom interior paint; and upgraded appliance packages. Other upgrades include custom cabinets, electrical and plumbing fixture packages, a computer wiring system, home theater system, and an alarm system.
      Interiors, per plan, feature vaulted ceilings; plant shelves; rounded corners; cabinets in a choice of finishes; owner suites with dual-sink vanities, garden tubs and walk-in closets; laundry areas; and prewiring for cable TV and phones.
      Exteriors provide concrete-tile roofs and block walls with gated returns.
      Each homes comes with a 10-year warranty.
      Barnett said one available financing plan offers qualified buyers zero-down financing, with a total move-in cost of 1 percent of the purchase price of the home. "This kind of pricing and financing is rapidly turning former renters into homeowners, and attracting a significant number of value-conscious second- and third-time home buyers as well," she said.
