Newlyweds find home at Grandview

Ken and Laurie Price are delighted about their new home in Grandview, a Perma-Bilt Homes neighborhood.
"We were interested in a neighborhood with just single-story homes in the northwest, and we found Grandview," Ken Price said. "I like to tell people that we have mountain splendor and environmental kindness. From my back yard, I have views of mountains in two directions and a glimpse of the city."
The couple chose the Desert Flower plan, a 1,937-square-foot home with three bedrooms, an optional den and 2 1/2 baths. A three-car garage is standard.
The Prices, who married last fall, share the home with their cat, Dolphin; and Cheyenne and Sequoia, their 2-year-old golden retrievers.
Also available is the Lone Mountain plan, which measures 1,763 square feet with three bedrooms and two baths. It comes with a split three-car garage. The Sun Rise, with four bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths, measures 2,103 square feet; while the City Lights plan can be built with four or five bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths in 2,460 square feet.
      Prices start from the $170,000s.
Community amenities include the Shadow Hills Club, a 51,000-square-foot facility with fitness areas, locker rooms, a big-screen television, fireplace and kitchen. Additional amenities include a swimming pool, lap pool, spa, saunas, basketball court, putting green and barbecue area.
To visit, take Cheyenne Avenue west of U.S. Highway 95.
The sales office and models are open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when they open at 11 a.m.
