Ravello debuts at Lake Las Vegas Resort

Ravello, an enclave of 24 European-style villas set above the greens and fairways of the Jack Nicklaus-designed Reflection Bay Golf Club at Lake Las Vegas Resort in Henderson, takes center stage this weekend with the debut of its furnished model homes.

Named for the Italian city along the Amalfi Coast, Ravello features Mediterranean-inspired homes along Lake Las Vegas' northern shore, ranging from 1,970 to 2,300 square feet and priced from $499,900.

The designs blend indoor and outdoor living and take advantage of the golf course views and desert landscape, according to the builder, Dempsey Construction Corp.

"Ravello is a unique neighborhood at Lake Las Vegas Resort. It is intimate and individual in spirit and character yet close to the center of activity at this spectacular residential resort. It is just the right place for Dempsey Construction to introduce itself to Las Vegas," company president Linda Dempsey said.

"The views of surrounding desert mountains contrasted with the green of the golf course, and the liveable yet truly dramatic architecture of the homes makes Ravello a true jewel of a neighborhood."

The neighborhood's director of design, architect Barry Berkus, has been recognized by several national magazines.

"It was Barry's early experiences and successes here at Lake Las Vegas Resort that led my husband, Tom, and Dempsey Construction to select this property and this very special community," Dempsey said.

The one- and two-story designs feature rotunda retreats, fireplaces and circular stairways, first-floor owner suites, and landscaped entry courtyards. The models are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Several other neighborhoods also are featured around the lake.

Also on the northern shore are: MonteCatini, which offers multiacre home sites priced from $1.1 million to more than $4 million; the guard-gated Vila di Lago, featuring 147 homes with as many as 2,500 square feet and priced from $400,000, including lot premiums; and Sorrento, a gated neighborhood of 52 single- and two-story homes along the Reflection Bay Golf Club, ranging from 3,000 to more than 4,850 square feet and priced from $640,000.

On the opposite side of the lake, the guard-gated SouthShore offers home sites nestled in the hillside, priced from $256,000 to $2.1 million, and several neighborhoods.

Adjacent to the SouthShore Golf Clubhouse, the attached SouthShore Golf Villas are priced from the $340,000s. Each offers about 950 square feet, an owner bedroom with bath, living room, island kitchen with dining nook, and patio.

The 72-home PortaCielo neighborhood features three floor plans, ranging from 2,460 to 3,500 square feet and priced from $510,000, while MiraMonte offers 23 single-story homes with direct lake access, measuring from 2,867 to 3,119 square feet and priced from $1.47 million.

Lake Las Vegas Resort is being developed by Transcontinental Properties Inc.

To visit, take Lake Mead Drive, seven miles east of Boulder Highway, to Lake Las Vegas Parkway. The Discovery Centre is open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
