Custom lots set for release at Promontory

The second phase of custom lots in Promontory at The Ridges in Summerlin is set for release on Saturday. The 12 one-half acre to three-quarter acre lots are priced from $350,000 to $950,000.

Stew Gibbons, an executive with The Howard Hughes Corp., developer of Summerlin, expects the new release to be as popular as the first.

"Most of Promontory's 25 first phase lots are already sold, and we anticipate the second phase to go as quickly," he said.

"Promontory's hillside location adjacent to the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area provides a secluded and stunning backdrop with sweeping city views that are hard to find elsewhere."

The development is situated at an elevation of about 4,000 feet, and taking shape around the Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best golf course. The course is scheduled to open for play on Nov. 1.

Promontory is the first neighborhood to be developed in The Ridges, which will feature a guard-gated entry; a private park with pavilion; and Club Ridges, a members-only clubhouse with a swimming pool, fitness center, spa rooms and lighted tennis courts.

"Promontory's fabulous amenities, combined with its dramatic topography and exclusive location, will create one of the most beautiful and desirable custom living communities in the valley," Gibbons said. "Promontory's early success speaks volumes for its desirability."

The Summerlin master-planned community aligns the western edge of the Las Vegas Valley, and is comprised of villages, each with a major park or golf course. Amenities include eight golf courses, nearly 100 parks, more than 45 completed miles of trails, 16 schools, houses of worship, shopping centers, business parks, medical centers, and nearly 150 model homes.

Single-family homes, townhomes and condominiums are priced from under $100,000 to more than $700,000. Custom lots from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million. Predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million. Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the $700s.

To visit the community's Custom Homes and Lots Sales Center, take Sahara Avenue west past Hualapai Way to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara. The office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
