Siena age-qualified community releases home sites
The age-qualified village of Siena in southwestern Summerlin has released several home sites on its 18-hole championship golf course, where one-third of the community's 1,900 homes will be located. "We have recently released some of the most beautiful lots in Siena," said project manager Paul Smith, who explained the sites feature mountain and golf course views. The golf course is offering special summer daily-fee rates to Nevada residents and tourists. Homeowners are offered preferred rates and tee times at the par-72 course, which was designed by Schmidt & Curley. The course measures 4,941 yards from the front tees and 6,816 yards from the back tees. "Both Lee Schmidt and Brian Curley learned his craft by working for many years with such greats as Pete Dye and Jack Nicklaus," Smith said. "They are now considered among the country's top architects." Schmidt and Curley wanted "fun" to be a part of the design. "One of our major missions was to make the Siena golf course fun," Schmidt said. "It adds to the total golf experience that there are changing elevations, rolling hills and a variety of golfing challenges. Some of the holes are uphill; some are downhill. There are desert arroyos and there are lakes with waterfalls. In other words, a good mixture of elements." Buyers can choose from five Mediterranean-style series of homes and 14 floor plans. Customizing options such as casitas and courtyard fireplaces are available. Interior designers, headquartered in Siena's on-site design studio, can assist buyers. All homes are single-story designs and range from 1,200 to more than 3,100 square feet. Prices start from $160,000 to more than $650,000. A palm-lined private road leads to the community's Tuscan-style entry, which is manned on a 24-hour basis by security guards who also patrol the neighborhoods. The community's 15,900-square-foot fitness center features a cardiovascular and weight room, a wellness center, saunas, steam rooms, massage rooms, and a 25-meter indoor lap pool and spa. Additional outdoor recreational facilities will include lighted tennis courts, bocce courts, and lap and resort swimming pools. To visit, take Sahara Avenue or Interstate 215 to Town Center Drive and go south to Siena Monte Avenue. Models are open daily from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
