Saddle Peak fulfills family's requirements
When Jerry and Julie Tucker set out to find a new home, they sought a floor plan that would also accommodate their teen-age sons Chris and Cody, as well as Julie Tucker's mother, Ardele Kristof and her dog, Muffin. They found the ideal home in the Saddle Peak neighborhood at Pardee's Nevada Trails community in the southwestern valley. "We were having a hard time finding the right home for our special needs until we saw Saddle Peak in Nevada Trails," Julie Tucker said. The family chose a Plan Three-C design with an optional secondary master suite that features a sitting room that looks out to the courtyard. There are also two secondary bedrooms. Plan Three measures 3,203 square feet and is priced from $273,200. It offers a two-car garage plus side-loading garage. "It provides privacy for my mother, but keeps us all together," Tucker said, adding the neighborhood's location is perfect for their needs. "We have probably saved more than an hour a day in commuting because our business, our church and our sons' school are just minutes away." The family, whose business involves selling parts for classic pickup trucks from the 1950s, was also impressed by the fact that their new home features the Energy Star label, which means it uses 30 percent less energy than a standard home, according to the Environmental Protection Agency. "Because our new home is an Energy Star home, we know that our power bills will be a lot less than the $600 a month we paid before," Jerry Tucker said. Pardee Homes this year became the first large regional builder to make the commitment that 100 percent of its new homes comply with the Energy Star program. All homes are single-story at Saddle Peak, a gated neighborhood. Buyers can choose from two additional floor plans. Plan One can be built with 2,565 to 2,804 square feet. It provides four bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths and a two-car garage plus swing garage. A den, sunroom and additional bath are optional. The price starts from $253,700. Plan Two measures 2,823 square feet with three bedrooms plus a den or fourth bedroom, and 2 1/2 baths. An optional fireplace is available in the courtyard and an optional wet bar is available just off of the courtyard. A three-car garage is standard in this home, which is priced from $266,700. Two additional neighborhoods are open within Nevada Trails, where the model park features 11 homes. Silver Tree homes range from 2,000 to 3,844 square feet with as many as seven bedrooms, four baths and a two- or three-car garage. Prices start from $206,450 to $262,450. Floor plans at Manzanita measure from 1,414 to 2,566 square feet with as many as five bedrooms and two or three baths. Prices range from $170,450 to $212,450. Two- and three-car garages are available. Nevada Trails is planned to include 13 acres of parks and 10 acres of trails. To visit, take Interstate 215 to Rainbow Boulevard, drive one mile south to Robindale Road and turn right into the model park. The sales office is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily except Monday, when it opens at 11 a.m. Pardee has been building homes in Southern Nevada since 1952. In addition to Nevada Trails, the company is developing the Rancho Las Palmas and Eldorado communities.
