Madera fills family's criteria

When Carlton and Alison Combs began looking for a new home, they had already narrowed the general location of their search to the northwest area of the valley. With three children -- 11-year-old Carlton Jr., 10-year-old Bridget and 1-year-old Candace -- the Combses knew they wanted a five-bedroom home.

Alison Combs said they visited all of the homes that fit those parameters.

"We spent several months looking for the right home for our family, and along the way we found the Sevilla model at Madera," she said. "Right away, we were both impressed with the design. So much, that even though we continued to visit other models, from the first moment we saw the Sevilla it became the house that all the others were measured against."

The Madera neighborhood is located in North Las Vegas.

Carlton Combs said the floor plan was the biggest draw for them. The home they selected has five bedrooms plus a loft.

"We love the huge family room and living area. With three young children, this space is very important to us," he said.

They thanked the sales staff for helping them get into their home so quickly.

"Originally, I had chosen a specific lot that I wanted our home to be built on," Carlton Combs said. "But when another completed home suddenly became available, we found that it had everything we wanted structurally, and the sales representatives helped us to get a few smaller options installed, as well. Both Alison and I were amazed that in less than four weeks from signing the original purchase contract -- we were moving into our new Madera home."

Nine single- and two-story floor plans range from 1,200 to 2,857 square feet. Homes include three to six bedrooms and numerous design options.

Prices start from the $140,000s.
