Agents settle in at Palisades
When real estate agents and former New Jersey residents Marshall and Barbara Zucker moved to Las Vegas last year, choosing a builder and neighborhood proved to be an easy decision. "We had heard so many wonderful things about Christopher Homes," Barbara Zucker said. "The minute we drove through the gates at Palisades and saw the elegance of this neighborhood, we knew it had the style we were looking for. "It was like we had entered a whole different world, separate from the rest of Las Vegas. We felt as though we had recaptured the green, garden-like feel we loved on the East Coast." The guard-gated neighborhood is being built along the fairways of the TPC at The Canyons golf course within The Canyons village in Summerlin. Five one- and two-story floor plans are available, ranging from 3,758 to 6,200 square feet. Prices start from the $600,000s. The lots range from about one-quarter acre to one-half acre. Golf course sites are available, some with city and mountain views. The Zuckers chose the Monet design, a single-story home with four bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths in 3,758 square feet. They decided to add an optional casita, expanding the living area to about 4,107 square feet. "We love the design of our home. We especially like the courtyard, which is a wonderful retreat and expands the living area of our home. The ... design center team helped us create a beautiful courtyard area with custom-concrete accents and other features," Barbara Zucker said. "With a background in custom-home building, we were very pleased with the flexibility offered by Christopher Homes and the services we received from their architectural and interior design professionals. We were able to custom design our kitchen and add indoor and outdoor accents to create our own unique home." They were also pleased with the service they received from the builder's in-house architectural department. "From the time we were ready to choose our home site, we were able to consult with a Christopher Homes architectural designer, who helped us make comparisons in terms of how our home would be positioned, the relationship to nearby homes, lighting and other considerations," Marshall Zucker said. The neighborhood is in its final phase and offers homes with immediate occupancy. Buyers who choose a home before construction may add options, such as elevators, courtyard fireplaces, wine cellars, casitas, secondary owner suites, extra bedrooms and baths, bonus rooms, libraries and wet bars. To visit Palisades, take Summerlin Parkway to Town Center Drive, go south and proceed to Hualapai Way, following the signs. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
