Newest mini-village takes shape within Summerlin community

The 105-acre mini-village of Ridgebrook is unfolding in the southwestern portion of the Summerlin master-planned community, and will include a 6.5-acre park and a public elementary school site.

"Ridgebrook is a unique and intimate living environment located off Desert Inn Road west of (Interstate 215)," said Stew Gibbons, executive vice president of The Howard Hughes Corp., which oversees Summerlin development. "Ridgebrook's four neighborhoods surround the park."

The homes feature a desert contemporary style with deep overhangs, horizontal architecture and earth-tone colors, while the village walls and landscaping are similar to those of The Ridges, the luxury village located directly west of Ridgebrook.

The neighborhoods are: SouthStar by R/S Development, which features homes measuring from 1,528 to 1,900 square feet and priced from the mid-$100,000s; Sunset Ridge by Pulte Homes, which offers residences ranging from 1,418 to 1,881 square feet and priced from the high $100,000s; Granite Peaks by KB Home, which offers homes measuring from 1,800 to 2,550 square feet and priced from the high $100,000s; and Echo Ridge, also by Pulte Homes, with designs ranging from 1,657 to 2,486 square feet and priced from the low $200,000s.

"Ridgebrook provides a serene setting with the intimacy of just four neighborhoods," Gibbons said. "The community park serves as the village centerpiece and the mountain backdrop frames this ideal location."

The village's park is under development and will contain basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and picnic area

The John and Judy Goolsby Elementary School will be located at Desert Inn Road and Ridge Hollow Drive. John Goolsby is a former Hughes Corp. executive.

Summerlin has ranked as the nation's best-selling master-planned community for nine of the past 10 years, according to an independent survey.

The community is home to eight golf courses, including two Tournament Players Club courses and a Jack Nicklaus-designed Bear's Best course; nearly 100 miles of trails, 16 public and private schools, houses of worship, cultural facilities, shopping centers, medical facilities, and business parks.

Homes prices start from the mid-$100,000s to more than $700,000. Custom lots ranging from one-quarter acre to three-quarters of an acre are priced from the mid-$100,000s to more than $1 million, and predesigned custom homes are priced from $500,000 to more than $1 million.

Apartments offer monthly rents starting from the high $700s.

To visit the community's home finding center, take Sahara Avenue west, past Hualapai Way to Town Center Drive. Or, take Interstate 215 to Sahara. The center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
