Aliante serves needs of family of three

Karli and Karl Berge hunted for a new family home with the right features, and found it at the Aliante master-planned community in North Las Vegas.

Several items factored into the Berges' decision. Nature Discovery Park seemed ideal for their 3-year-old son, Mason Rupp, and Karli Berge considered the community to be "family-oriented" as a whole.

"We have a three-year-old and he will certainly appreciate having the park and so many other recreational amenities close to home," she said.

The family will move into KB Home's San Destin Tivoli neighborhood.

"We looked at neighborhoods built by a variety of home builders and found that KB Home offered the combination of floor plan, location and value we were looking for," Berge said. "Since I am an employee, I am highly aware of the quality of construction and customer service KB Home delivers, which was another factor in our decision."

Aliante comprises 1,905 acres and features a main village and an age-qualified village, which will collectively have as many as 7,500 homes, with an anticipated population of about 20,000.

In addition to KB, builders in the main village are D.R. Horton, Pardee Homes and Pulte Homes. Del Webb is developing the age-qualified Sun City Aliante.

Homes are priced from the $150,000s to the mid-$400,000s.

Nearly 430 acres are designated for recreational and public purposes including the Aliante Golf Club, a public facility; and the 20-acre Nature Discovery Park. Two additional city parks and trails will be developed. Two elementary schools and a middle school also are planned.

Roughly 100 acres have been set aside for commercial development offering shopping, dining and professional services, as well as a 40-acre resort hotel with gaming.

To visit, take U.S. Highway 95 to the Interstate 215 east exit. Proceed to the Aliante Parkway exit then go south. The information center is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
