Residences at Tuscan Cliffs connect indoor and outdoor living spaces through accessible, luxury design, according to David Kellen, development coordinator at Tuscan Cliffs, a guard-gated neighborhood of customizable homes within the Southern Highlands community in the southern portion of the Las Vegas Valley.
Disappearing glass doors are among the architectural strategies of indoor/outdoor design.

"Essentially, these extra-large sliding glass doors open up an entire wall of the home's living room, dining room or kitchen to the central courtyard or rear patio," Kellen said. "They expand the living areas and can create a sense of openness even when they are shut."
Each residence uses a track-mounted disappearing glass door that slides into an adjoining wall, allowing residents an easy way to expand the living area while entertaining.
Tuscan Cliffs' four floor plans feature decks and balconies at the upstairs, accessed via French and sliding glass doors.
"Given our setting, nestled amid the Southern Highlands Golf Club, the foothills to the south and an upcoming park, we anticipate residents wanting to take full advantage of their spectacular views this location provides," Kellen said. " ... each of the homes is designed to include an abundance of windows and French doors."
Each design features high-end product lines from Andersen Windows and Doors. They include double-hung insert and sliding windows from the 400 Series, as well as a choice of French doors, some offering three-point locking systems. All of the products feature wood-clad, low-e glass for improved energy efficiency.
"French doors are a wonderful option for opening up a room that is adjacent to a patio or courtyard," Kellen said. "In many areas, buyers may opt to substitute French doors for windows or standard doors."
In addition, the company has a selection of ornate entry doors. Several feature decorative iron work and glass insets.
The Pacific Southwest Development neighborhood will feature 155 estate homes on lots measuring one-quarter acre or larger. Premium home sites, including mountainside parcels in future phase releases, are available.
Four two-story models are open for tours at the neighborhood. In their base configurations, floor plans range from 4,328 to 5,441 square feet. Various design options can bring the homes to 6,000 square feet. Each of the homes is designed for a high level of customization, allowing residents to add a range of spaces and features as they see fit.
Standard amenities include paver stone driveways, sand-finished stucco exteriors, stainless steel appliances, 42-inch maple cabinets, granite countertops, 6-foot garden tubs, wood-clad Andersen windows, Kohler plumbing fixtures and structured wiring systems.
A variety of options are available, including structured wiring systems and media networks and swimming pools, as well as decorator touches throughout.
Each residence qualifies as an Energy Star home. Base prices range from $1.04 million to $1.25 million.
