Links for Life benefits Child Haven

SPECIAL TO REAL ESTATE

The Links for Life benefit golf tournament this month raised $50,000 for Child Haven, which provides temporary housing for abused, abandoned and neglected children in Clark County. The tournament, in its seventh year, was hosted by Colliers International at Anthem Country Club in Henderson.

The funds raised will go toward building a playground for medically fragile children, according to Sandy Kreml, manager of Child Haven. The facility typically houses between 120 and 180 children for an average 28 days, however some youngsters stay as long as three months.

More than 200 members of the business community participated in the event, which included prizes, a margarita bar, surf-and-turf buffet, and live charity auction.

In its history, the tournament has raised more than $360,000 for local children's charities, including the Las Vegas Center for Children.

Additional sponsors included Bank of America, Vestin Mortgage, United Title of Nevada, and Clark and Sullivan Constructors.

"Being part of Links for Life through our company allows us to play a role in protecting the safety and future of Southern Nevada's children," Louis Primak, vice president of Clark and Sullivan, said.

Associate sponsors were: Harsch Investment Properties, Majestic Realty, Monte- cristo Rum, Sprint, Southwest Exchange Corp., First American Title Co., Sanborn Bakery, Marnell Corrao, Panattoni Development, Nevada Title Co., Plise Development and Stoltz Management.
