The Villas provides golf course lifestyle at Southern Highlands

Christopher Homes' The Villas is a single-family neighborhood located in the Southern Highlands Golf Club designed for singles, empty nester and second-home buyers, according to the builder.

"The Villas is attracting a very nice blend of home buyers representing a variety of age groups," sales agent Terri Pickering said. "Most of our buyers are in two-member households and many are second-home buyers from out-of-state. They are people who want to enjoy themselves while in Las Vegas, without the maintenance responsibilities generally associated with owning a single-family home."

The homes offer views of the golf course, the Las Vegas skyline and surrounding mountains. Seven designs are available, measuring from 2,100 to 3,300 square feet. Prices range from the high $300,000s to the mid-$800,000s.

Each home features a private courtyard and a private rear-yard terrace, as well as an optional courtyard fireplace. All landscaping of the front yards and open space areas is handled through the association.

Pickering said enhanced privacy and security has proven to be another major attraction at The Villas.

"Active empty-nesters tend to travel a lot, so they appreciate the 24-hour guarded entrance and roving security within the Southern Highlands Golf Club," she said. "This enhanced security is also attractive to second-home buyers, whose primary residences are out-of-state."

Pickering said a selection of homes is nearing completion, including one that is set for move-in this month and several more that are scheduled for completion in June.

"These homes will ... include spacious two-story designs, some with downstairs master suites and one plan with dual master suites," she said.

Most will be built in cul-de-sacs lined with decorative pavers. The neighborhood will be landscaped, with trees and plants that blend with the surrounding landscape.

Amenities include covered patios, granite kitchen counter tops and smart-house wiring.

Also featured are concierge services, and recreational facilities such as a sports and fitness center, swimming pool, tennis courts and a 42,000-square-foot clubhouse. Each buyer is given a social membership to the Southern Highlands Golf Club, upon application approval.

Each buyer at The Villas receives consultation with a professional interior designer at the builder's full-service design center.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to Lake Mead Drive, exit west and follow the signs. Sales office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
