`Where I Live' topic of art contest
The Nevada Housing Division is accepting submissions for its annual art contest. Pupils in grades kindergarten through fifth grade can submit two-dimensional 9-by-12-inch artwork addressing the theme "Where I Live." The first-place winner will be awarded $300, second place will net $150, and third place will earn $100. The Judges' Choice recipient will receive $50, and $25 will be given to each of the runners-up. Winning entires will be featured in the Housing Division's 2003 calendar. Juried artwork will be exhibited at The Venetian in January, and an artist reception is scheduled Jan. 7. The deadline to enter is Nov. 13. The contest is sponsored by the Housing Division, the Real Estate section of the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Sun, the Clark County School District's School Community Partnership Program, Pardee Homes, The Venetian, Piero's Restaurant, and Houdini's Magic Shop.
