Tuscan Cliffs centered on customized kitchen

Pacific Southwest Development's Tuscan Cliffs, a Tuscan-inspired neighborhood in the Southern Highlands master-planned community, features homes with kitchens that can be customized.

"The kitchen is one of the first things buyers look at as far as how a home is laid out and how they imagine themselves living in it," sales agent Rob Evon said. "With huge islands, disappearing glass doors and butler's pantries, our kitchens are designed for entertaining. Our clients are able to choose from such a wide array of options and designer choices that they'll get a custom feel to their kitchen without the hassle of having to start from scratch."

Standard features include dual wall-mounted ovens, built-in microwaves and stainless steel appliances. Buyers may also include side-by-side refrigerators, wine refrigerators, ice makers, dual dishwashers with built-in drawers, flush-mounted farm sinks, prep sinks, warming drawers, cooling drawers and trash compactors. Built-in appliances and Miele cappuccino makers are optional.

"We custom-build the cabinets around the appliances they select, so they fit together perfectly. In addition, there are several options in how the cabinets may be built, such as a staggered configuration that many buyers find more attractive," Evon said.

Cabinets with European hinges and 42-inch uppers are standard and may be built all the way to the ceiling. Slab granite countertops are also standard.

Design selections include glass door inserts, door hardware and a choice of finishes.

One floor plan features a kitchen set up as a great room, while the other three models feature formal layouts with butler's pantries. Each includes a dining nook and the option to use exterior pocket glass doors to connect to a rear patio or courtyard.

The 155-home, guard-gated neighborhood features four two-story floor plans, ranging from 4,328 to 5,441 square feet. Various design options, such as game rooms and main- and upper-level courtyard casitas, can bring the homes to 6,000 square feet.

All lots measure at least one-quarter acre, while premium lots, including some mountainside sites with city views, are available in future releases.

Selected homes feature 22-foot-high foyers, sand-finished stucco exteriors, 10- to 22-foot ceilings, wood-clad Andersen windows, Kohler plumbing fixtures, 6-foot garden tubs and structured wiring systems.

The homes meet Energy Star standards, saving homeowners on their heating and cooling expenses.

Design options allow for side-loading garages, media rooms, exercise rooms, wine cellars, bonus rooms, balconies, decks, and additional bedrooms and baths.

Base prices range from $1 million to $1.2 million.

For a limited time, the builder will pay one year's dues for a social membership to the Southern Highlands Golf Club with each purchase of a new home in the neighborhood, subject to application approval.

To visit, take Interstate 15 to the St. Rose Parkway exit and go west. Drive north on Southern Highlands Parkway and proceed to Stonewater Lane, then turn left and follow the signs.

Office hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. except Monday, when it opens at 1 p.m. The sales office phone number is 228-8559.
