"Many prospective buyers looking at high-end communities demand a manned gate. It's a greater level of privacy and sense of security than a gate alone," said Kristi Kramer, vice president with Pacific Southwest Development.
With stone trim, a copper roof and 6-foot-diameter pilasters, the new building is situated at the neighborhood's monument entry and features a central turret with a broad overhang and porte cocheres on either side.
Decorative concrete will line the lanes leading in and out.
"The décor of the entrance will match the neighborhood in style and create a sense of arrival," Kramer said.
The all two-story neighborhood of 155 homes features four models ranging from 4,328 to 5,441 square feet.
Nearly 60 floor plan are available, including options for one-and two-story courtyard casitas and bonus rooms measuring more than 1,000 square feet.
Various design options can bring the homes to 6,000 square feet.
All homes feature courtyards and patios accessible by disappearing glass doors, with the options of summer kitchens, outdoor fireplaces, swimming pools and a variety of landscaping packages.
Standard amenities include paver stone driveways and sand-finished stucco exterior. In addition, each residence meets Energy Star standards, according to the builder.
Home sites average one-quarter acre. Premium lots, including mountainside home sites in future phase releases, are available.
Base prices range from $1 million to $1.25 million.
The neighborhood is scheduled to open before the end of the year.
For a limited time, the builder will pay one year's dues for a social membership to the Southern Highlands Golf Club with the purchase of a new home in the neighborhood, subject to application approval.
To visit, take Interstate 15 to the St. Rose Parkway exit and go west. Drive north on Southern Highlands Parkway and proceed to Stonewater Lane, then turn left and follow the signs to the neighborhood.
