Sun City MacDonald Ranch hosts Harvest Festival, craft fair
Sun City MacDonald Ranch is inviting families to visit the age-restricted community during its Harvest Festival on Halloween.
Among the festivities in the event are a pancake breakfast, clog dancing show and a raffle. The winner of the raffle will receive a catered dinner for eight.
The community will also host a craft fair, where articles from the craft club will be on sale.
"... The country atmosphere will put you in the mood for the holidays," said Linda Busack, Sun City MacDonald Ranch activities director. "It's an all-day fun event for the entire family."
The festival takes place next Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Desert Willow Community Center. The 36,000-square-foot facility features a workout room, aerobic dance studio, swimming pool, spa, horseshoe pits, and tennis and boccie ball courts. It also has a computer workshop and rooms for painting, ceramics and quilting.
The community is also home to the executive-length Desert Willow Golf Course. At 3,845 yards, the course features six par-4s and some lengthy par-3s.
The 564-acre community will comprise 2,500 homes and villas at buildout. It is located in Henderson near Black Mountain.
To visit, take Interstate 515 to Lake Mead Drive, head west to Green Valley Parkway, and then go south, following the signs. The sales office is open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Nine model homes are available at the development. The homes are priced from the low $100,000s to the $170,000s, with floor plans ranging from 1,020 to 2,014 square feet.
