Madrid features quarter-acre lots

Madrid, a neighborhood built by Rhodes Homes in the southwestern valley, features home sites measuring more than 10,000 square feet without lot premiums.
"All of our homes are built on cul-de-sacs," sales agent Mark Lemmon said. "Cul-de-sacs reduce traffic and are always the first choice for homeowners. That's why we designed it so that all of our homes could be on a cul-de-sac."
All of the homes have three-car garages.
Lemmon said homes at the neighborhood are a value because of the many included features.
"We don't charge extra for the large lots. We even offer granite kitchen counter tops as an included feature, and that's something home buyers pay thousands of dollars for at other communities around town," he said.
The neighborhood has three floor plans, priced from $249,950.
At 2,685 square feet, the only single-story plan has three bedrooms, a den, 2 1/2 baths and an island kitchen.
The five-bedroom, 3,537-square-foot, two-story plan has a den or optional sixth bedroom. The home has an optional downstairs media room with surround sound.
The 4,138-square-foot, two-story plan has as many as six bedrooms and three baths, with an exercise room off the owner suite.
To visit, take Tropicana Avenue to Durango Drive, head north to Peace Way and go west.
The sales office and model homes are open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The builder is also developing Meadows II, Northern Lights and The Preserve at Elkhorn Springs; Rhodes Ranch Country Club, Vistana at Rhodes Ranch, Apache Springs, Spanish Hills, Tiburon and Granada Hills in the southwestern valley; Palm Gardens in the southeastern valley; and Sunset Pointe and The Estates at Palm Hills in Henderson.
