Coldwell Banker Premier agents help kids

Agents at Coldwell Banker Premier Realty helped nearly four dozen children in need start off the new school year in style, thanks to the firm's Donna Lee Laduke, who coordinated with the Salvation Army in its second annual Clothes For Kids drive.

Laduke organized a fund-raising campaign among her co-workers that enabled 45 youngsters to attend school with one new outfit, a new pair of shoes and a variety of school supplies.

"My mother raised as many as 45 foster-care children, three from babies to adults, in a small town outside of Albany, N.Y., and The Salvation Army was a tremendous help...," Laduke said.

Countywide, the program reached about 300 kids, ranging in age from 5 years to 12 years, according to Carol Sloan, family services director for The Salvation Army.

For the past three years, Laduke has also garnered the assistance of co-workers for The Salvation Army's Angel Tree program. Last year, the firm provided toys for 82 of the 3,000 youngsters in the program.

"The agents at Coldwell Banker Premier Realty really help lift a burden off of our shoulders at The Salvation Army, because they are willing to take such a large group of kids every year and for both programs," Sloan said.
