`Siena Swings' introduces home buyers to development

The recent "Siena Swings" event, sponsored by developer Sunrise Colony Co., drew more than 300 prospective home buyers to the Siena development in Summerlin for fun, music, entertainment and dancing, according to Jimmy Jones, vice president of sales. The event was designed to introduce potential home buyers to the age-restricted development.
Guests danced to swing standards performed by the Swing Things. Highlights included performances by vocalists Frankie Randall and Dennis Bono and an appearance by actress Stella Stevens. The event also featured bus tours, refreshments, dance lessons and several prizes.
"People react to Siena very favorably because it offers so much more than the typical age-qualified community," Jones said. "Guard-gated privacy, a more intimate and comfortable design, and exceptionally competitive pricing from the $140,000s are just a few of the unique attributes that make this community so attractive..."
More than 60 homes have sold during the first few months of sales. The 665-acre community will feature an 18-hole golf course and five collections of homes with 14 floor plans.
The single-story homes range from 1,250 to 3,100 square feet, each with three exterior styles. There is also a design studio. Early-phase prices range from $140,000 to $450,000 for homes along the golf course.
Construction of the golf course, model homes and phase one homes is under way. The first homes are expected to be completed by November. The first nine holes of the golf course are scheduled to open in January 2000 with the second nine holes opening in the spring. About one-third of the 1,900 homes will be built adjacent to the course. The terrain will provide a variety of views.
Other amenities will include a 32,000-square-foot village center with a bar, lounge, library, 5,700-square-foot ballroom, meeting rooms, a billiard room, business center, craft and card rooms, communication center and computer lab.
A 14,700-square-foot fitness center will contain exercise equipment, locker rooms, saunas, steam and massage rooms, an indoor lap pool and a wellness center. Outdoors will be a swimming pool, spa, tennis courts and boccie courts.
The 9,700-square-foot golf club will feature a pro shop, multitiered driving range and a grill room with patio dining.
The welcome center is on the northeast corner of Sahara Avenue and Town Center Drive. Office hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
The developer is also building the 738-acre Red Rock Country Club in Summerlin. The guard-gated development will feature two 18-hole Arnold Palmer-designed golf courses and about 1,100 homes built along the golf courses.
Of the 17 floor plans offered in five collections of homes, 15 are modeled at the development. Priced from the high $280,000s to more than $1 million, the one- and two-story homes range from 2,156 to more than 7,000 square feet.
To visit, take Sahara Avenue past Town Center Drive to Red Rock Ranch Road and turn left. Turn right at Red Springs Drive. The sales office is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
